After a long day of work, I was really looking forward to catching up with my boyfriend over dinner and follow up with a night out at the movies.

When I’m going out on a date night, I find I’m always rushing to make it to the movie after dinner. I was excited to visit CF Shops at Don Mills because I could do some shopping while waiting for my boyfriend, grab a bite and then settle in to watch a film without having to repark and run to the cinema!

For date night, I wore a couple pieces I picked up last time shopping at CF Shops at Don Mills, including a navy dress from Mendocino, and pumps from Nine West.

We started our evening at Taylors Landing, the newest restaurant to the Don Mills scene. The industrial chic decor matched perfectly with their menu of small bites and classics with a twist.

My boyfriend ordered a local brew on tap, while I enjoyed a Venetian Sparkle, which was so refreshing! We wanted to try a few items on the menu, and had poutine, tacos and wings, which were all filling and delicious. By the end of dinner, we couldn’t resist ordering the Sweet Potato cheesecake, which tasted just like a Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Next, we hit up Cineplex VIP Cinemas at Don Mills. The entire cinema is 19+ and offers a refined moviegoing experience. We hung out in the lounge and fullservice bar for a glass of wine before our theatre opened. The cinemas themselves are decked out in roomy leather seats. You can also order food or beverages from your seat before the movie begins, making it a onestop destination for date night! Next time, we will definitely be back to enjoy this perk. This is great if you’re pressed for time and can’t fit in dinner before a movie, and the burgers of guests next to us looked amazing.

After leaving the cinema, we stopped by the Lindt Store for a parting sweet. I can’t resist their chocolate truffles! While it was incredibly hot that evening (I was thankful for the cinema’s A/C), on a cooler night, I would have loved to end the evening with a rich cup of hot chocolate.

We both enjoyed how everything was in one place. It made date night go off without a hitch!
